The Triton Museum of Art exists both to embrace and expand the lives of the people of the Santa Clara Valley and the Greater Bay Area through a program of art, education and community involvement.

The Triton Museum of Art collects and exhibits contemporary and historical works with an emphasis on artists of the Greater Bay Area. The permanent collection includes 19th and 20th century American art of the Pacific Rim, Europe and beyond. Our goal is to use an open-minded approach to create thought-provoking exhibitions that reach beyond traditional presentations of art.

Current Openings

Position Title: Art Educator

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, prepare and implement art lessons students in our KidStudio and ArtReach Programs.
  • Lessons introduce students to a variety of media, techniques and cultures, while promoting visual literacy, creativity and personal expression.

Qualifications:

  • BA in art, art history, art education or related field, MFA preferred.
  • Solid teaching experience with Pre-K and/or K-8 grade levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of child development.
  • Proficiency with curriculum and lesson planning.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Teaching credential preferred but not necessary.

Days/Hours

Part-time position—hours vary.
Monday through Friday, flexible
