In this Afterschool Camp students will build upon their drawing skills through fun and creative projects designed to stimulate and enhance their creative minds. The weekly themes will include still life, botanicals, animals, people, and imaginative concepts.
In this 8-week session camp, students will:
-Learn drawing techniques including stippling, cross-hatching, layering and blending.-Enhance their ability to perceive and represent spatial relationships, textures, and forms in their drawings.-Practice using wet and dry drawing media including color pencils, oil pastels, charcoal, pen and ink, and combinations of both.-Reinforce the principles and elements of art and design.

MeiYing Dell'Aquila

MeiYing Del’Aquila is a Taiwanese American award-winning artist residing in California. Primarily working in oils, her work has been exhibited in solo and juried shows in museums and galleries throughout the US, including the de Young Museum in San Francisco, CA. MeiYing holds a Master of Arts degree from San Francisco State University and is the former owner and teacher at My Art School, an afterschool art program she ran for 25 years in Cupertino. As an educator, she encourages students to become the best they can be through promoting “self-empowerment to take charge and change the world for the better”. This legacy can be seen in her own paintings, which depict strong, confident figures and dynamism.
